Force Winamp to buffer entire song?

#1 Post by benz » Sat Jul 17, 2004 12:28 pm

Is there a way to force Winamp to buffer the entire song being played (mp3) into RAM? The reason I'm asking is because I have APS enabled, and am listening to music when its in my lap or in the car, etc...and occasionally if the HD is parked it will basically 'skip' during the current song in the playlist. I don't really wanna have to enable and disable APS every time I run Winamp, but it would be nice to have it just buffer the entire song into memory (I have plenty of that) so it would avoid skipping. Ideas?

I never used Winamp, but here is a website that might help you. Read the section under "Quality".

Great, Thanks! Knew i could count on G-Man! The plugin they discuss on that page is actually included default in the winamp installation, so its a matter of opening up the properties and there we have it.
