Playing a full-screen program in a window.

#1 Post by cjsuh » Mon Jul 19, 2004 4:01 pm

I want to be able to play games without having them default to full-screen mode, so I still have access to my other running programs (i.e. AIM, Outlook, web browser, etc.). I remeber having a utility that could do this on my old desktop, but I have no idea what it was called or whether it works with Windows XP. Does anyone know of any possible solutions?

Thanks!

Right click on the shortcut to the game, and in the Target box, add "-window" at the end (without the quotes of course). Oh and make sure to add this outside of the quotes that are already there...

ex.
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Trial\halo.exe" -window

....I have not really needed this, but I decided to try it out on the games I have just for kicks....apparently it only works on one (Halo). I cannot seem to get it to work with Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising. Anyone else have experience with this?

Thanks for the suggestion, but it doesn't seem to work with the games I have. Any other takers? :?
