correction

it should have read:

I installed windows XP Prof. on my X31. And in the process lost some cute things that were on my X31. One of them is the Sound Icon that shows various controlls related to the mic and speakers of the computer. How can I reinstall this

I answered that in the other thread ;) ... you want the volume icon

BTW, it acutally says "Place volume icon in the taskbar", not "Show volume icon" :?

This is not the one that I'm talking about. This one is standard with all win xp machines. Thinkpad x31 had one that was much nicer, and that is the one i'm looking for.
