HELP!!
Ipowered up my 770ED Tuesday night and a lot of my software has disappered. My hunch is a virus attack -- although my symantec DAT file was current.
I reinstalled WIN98 and encountered problems booting -- unable to find Symantec subdir and file. I can't run IE nor Netscape -- both subdir are gone .
Biggest concern is that all my Quicken is gone.
Any clues as to what happened -- more importantly, is there any hope that I can recover the subdirectories and applications -- My Documents looks intact. However, I did have files saved under Quicken and TaxAct, which are no longer visible on the drive.
Per Bill Morrow, I ran the DFT and the HD checked out and he wanted me to reach out to this forum.
Any help will be welcomed!

apps disappered ...
It could be that whatever "lost" your applications may have just changed their attributes to "Hidden". Change the file display properties on Windows Explorer to "Show Hidden Files" and see if the source files are still there. If they aren't, see if they found their way to the Recycle Bin, or you may need to find an Unerase utility which can recover lost files as long as Windoze hasn't overwritten them.
Hope this helps.
