Hi,
I've set up Windows XP SP3 both on a T20 and on a T30 and I've installed all drivers I could download from IBM/Lenovo. Unfortunately I could not find a driver for the IBM Fast Infrared Port.
I understand the IR port is a National Semiconductor Fast Infrared Port. I found nscirda.sys and irenum.sys on both systems but they are not correctly installed. I don't have a "nscirda.inf" or whatsoever.
Where can I get the driver?
Best regards,
singbad

I'm not aware of an IBM driver for IRDA.

If you need the driver, I believe Windows Update should find it. Check in Device Manager for errors. Make sure that there is not an irq conflict. You may have to disable something like the internal modem to be able to use the fast infrared port. On my T42 I can enable and disable the IR port in the BIOS, so make sure it it turned on in your BIOS.

Thanks for your hints!
- I checked the BIOS settings, the infrared device is enabled.
- I disabled the modem and the serial port.
- I downloaded nscirda.inf from somewhere in Hungary and copied it to the inf folder
It still wouldn't install. Windows said something like "The device driver for this hardware cannot be loaded. It is possibly damaged or missing. (Code 39)" like all the time before.
Then I uninstalled the Fast Infrared something and did a hardware re-scan. Now it installed automatically
Re-activated the modem (it's an Int11 device) and the com1 port after altering address and interrupt and ¡ya estamos, caballeros!
Thanks again, and best regards,
