Startup - What Processes Can I Remove?
Startup - What Processes Can I Remove?
I'm looking to speed up my PC and limit conflicts. (I have a T60 running XP Pro.)
Could I get feedback on what I can remove from normal startup?
Here is what is currently checked as start up items:

TpKmapAp
TpShocks
tp4ex
ExEjMnAp
TPHKMGR
smax4pnp
Smax4
cli
UCLauncher
LPMGR

DLACTRLW
ISUSPM
pdservice
DkIcon
PWRMGRTR
BatLogEx
QTTask
avgtray
jusched
CS4ServiceManager
ctfmon
GoogleUpdate
GoogleToolbarNotifier
Digital Line Detect
Thanks in advance.

Well, you could always remove all that Google crapware.
Do you ever use the dial-up modem? If not, you can remove Digital Line Detect.

Check the file location before you remove/uncheck anything, but yes, remove things like all that Google stuff and other programs that you feel don't need to start up everytime you boot up. A bit on my A31 I've disabled things like Nero Home, Windows Live Messenger, RealPlayer Updater etc...
Sometimes if you put your cursor over the item it tells you what program it is...
