X62 and X63 are unofficial designations for 51nb boards right? I don't think they ever made them for the tablet version did they?

And motherboard intended for non-tablet X61 shouldn't fit a tablet X61 - I'm guessing the shape of the motherboard is different and it may be impossible to plug screen cable from tablet screen in the non-tablet motherboard. Apart from this being a different cable - it goes via central hinge - it also probably carries digitizer signals which non-tablet motherboard wouldn't understand.. Guessing here based on my experience with X230t vs X230

Partially incorrect.

The X60/61 Tablet boards will physically fit in a regular X60/61 chassis.

I know this because I've done it, once. Bought an X60s Core Solo, put an X61T board, force-flashed a non-Tablet BIOS, made sure it runs, then sold it.

Still not recommended because most of the LED indicators below the screen will not work.
Planned Purchase: T480s i5-8350 FHD Touch

There are some posts in this thread that show working X60/X61 tablets with the 51nb.com X62 mainboard. The board itself does not support the tablet specific functions so some tinkering was necessary to get them to work.

Just checking - you surely know the venerable name of "el-sahef" a member of our peer German forum who can do anything, the Frankenpad magician? :) I've been very pleased to see him grace our tiny little thread.

So yeah it seems I was wrong - with an X61-sized 51nb board in hand and an unlimited supply of time/will/talent such a tablet is doable!

P.S. if - and these are many ifs - 51nb-style boards for X61 with current CPU-s were available, 1400x1050 panels were easily available - X62/X63 tablet or not - would have been an attractive alternative to X210/X2100. It is also exciting that somewhere in this world an X62 tablet exists

I've been reading this forum (sporadically) for a very long time, but I didn't recognize the name at first. this is great that someone actually built one! I would be 1000% interested in buying such a machine, pre-built of course. ;)
