Agree.
I recently read a journalist's (biased) review on a ThinkPad, and said that it's a good unit, but got a "dated" look due to the TrackPoint.

The point is this: good designs don't change!
I personally used ThinkPad on trains, taxi, bus, ferry, etc. to reply work emails (unit connected to internet via ThinkPad's built-in Mobile Broadband WWAN).
The TrackPoint was invaluable in such situations, as not enough space for a mouse.

And good luck trying to drag-and-drop with a touchpad!
Which is why TrackPoints are so good!

@Ibthink:
AFAIK journalists have to stay informed about multiple items from multiple brands, in your case, they are PCs and laptops.
The majority here on this Forum is only interested in, and has worked closely with, IBM/Lenovo products.
Our visions may be limited, but are much more precise and geared to our/customer satisfaction.
Your visions are blurred by Apple/Dell/HP and whatever else.

This is not against you personally, but against journalists in general.
Usually they only know a little bit about a lot of things.

I just purchased an **OPEN BOX** P1, Lenovo model 20MD001WUS.

It's the standard non-customized AFAIK, but has 16GB RAM. 20MD001WUS LENOEFL. Lenovo ThinkPad P1 15.6" i5 16G 10P **OPEN BOX**

This is to replace the T61 maxed out at 8GB RAM that I'm typing on right now, on my lap, which weighs 5.44lb, sans battery.

Don't know when it will be delivered, I bought it from Provantage, who are a reseller. The CSR I talked to today didn't know which "distribution center" it's coming from, much less who the carrier will be and when I'll get it.

I'm wondering a few things, among them:

1. How warm will this be on my lap?
2. Will I have any Lenovo warranty coverage? Provantage has a refund policy if within 30 days, I pay postage.

Any comments very welcome. Thank you!

Check by the serial number when you get the machine.
