T14 Gen 1 AMD - problems with wwan card: whitelist?

#1 Post by piripuz » Mon Nov 17, 2025 4:42 am

Hello,

I have a T14 Gen 1 AMD and plugged a WWAN card taken from a T490, where it was working perfectly. The T14 still boots correctly, but the card is not recognised at all (not shown in lspci).

I am reading that the slot may be whitelisted at BIOS level. Can the problem be related to this or should the laptop not boot at all if a non-listed WWAN card is plugged in?

The card is a L830-EB, while the original one for my laptop should be a L850-GL. The BIOS version is 1.49.

Thanks for the help!

AFAIK most WWAN cards are USB. Try running lsusb instead.

lsusb does not show anything either... I don't think it is recognised at all by the system.
