Orange WWAN UK

#1 Post by neiljohn » Tue Feb 21, 2012 4:43 am

I have just received a new X1 that has the WWAN option specified.

ThinkPad X1 (1294-A21)
Intel Core i5-2520M(2.5GHz), 8GB RAM, 160GB Solid State Drive, 13.3in 1366x768 LCD, Intel HD Graphics, Intel 802.11agn wireless, WWAN option, Bluetooth, 1Gb Ethernet, UltraNav, Secure Chip, Fingerprint reader, 4c Li-Ion, Win7 Pro 64

I also have an Orange 3G USB dongle, I dropped this into the SIM card slot but I dont see any way to use it? Also I cant see anything that looks like a 3G modem in my device list?

Can anyone help me figure out how to get this working?

Thanks,

Neil.

Welcome to the forum!

You have the "WWAN Option" but not the WWAN card, i.e., the antennas are installed, but you have to provide the card. See the Hardware Maintenance Manual (HMM) (page 65 of the manual, page 71 in Acrobat's numbering) for location/installation of WWAN card:

Good luck!
