T60 CTO2008 (core2 ATI Graphics) OSX10.6.8 Resolution issues

#1 Post by griven » Sat Apr 21, 2012 7:25 pm

Hi Folks,

for now my Thinkpad runs great on OSX 10.6.8 almost everything works like expected (Wireless,Bluetooth,Speedstep,QE/CI,Sleep). I followed http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=85344 this Guide and use his DSDT and a slightly modified version of his Legacy.kext. As my Thinkpad has an other Graphics Controller as the Threads starter I had to patch RadeonX1000.kext in oder to match my Device ID, also I had to delete ATIFramebuffer.kext and ATISupport.kext from /S/L/E as well as I had to replace IONDRVSupport.kext with 10.6.7 Version in Order to get QE/CI to work with my Radeon.

To Fix mouse tearing Issues and enable Resolution change I all so installed RadeonHD.kext which gives me total perfect QE/CI experience BUT without connected external Display (VGA Connector) I am limited to maximum resolution of 1280x720, if I connect an external Display and Boot the Thinkpad up I can choose a higher Range of resolutions where almost all of them are displayed correctly on the thinkpads internal Panel.

So has anyone an idea how to enable higher resolutions without connecting an external Display?
