laptop stand with ultrabase
laptop stand with ultrabase
I work with several external monitors connected to my Ultrabase with my T410 but it's not very comfortable to use my laptop screen together with the other monitors because of the height difference. I want to get a dock or stand to raise my laptop so it's a few inches higher but I haven't really found one that looks like it could work well with an Ultrabase since I regularly remove my laptop to take it around.
I was thinking of perhaps making my own or modifying an existing stand. Does anyone have or know of a stand that could work or have ever created one that works?
I could always just move the Ultrabase on and off the stand along with the laptop whenever I want to attach or remove but that seems a little troublesome if I have a lot of wires attached.

Re: laptop stand with ultrabase
For years I used a phone book to get the top of my laptop screen the same level as the top of my desktop monitor.
Re: laptop stand with ultrabase
I was hoping for a more elegant and aesthetically pleasing solution but that would be the easiest and cheapest thing to use.

LOL....I hear you. I'm a construction project manager with an office at a construction job site. A phone book fits in quite well in that environment. My admin assistant got tired of looking at the spilled coffee stain so she wrapped it and decorated it for me.

Re: laptop stand with ultrabase
I know Lenovo has these monitor stands where the ultrabase sits underneath, but that's probably not what you are looking for.
I have seen people use small plastic stools to prop up, I myself use old textbooks at home, and reams of unopened paper at work. Very solid, but definitely not elegant.
My old job used a lot of titanium, I had always wanted to build a small laptop stand with titanium legs and a wood top... We can always dream!
