Three generations of workstations

#1 Post by QWERTY Andreas » Mon Oct 22, 2012 4:07 pm

Hi again

Im jsut here to post some pictures of three of the best thinkpads from their own generation. On the pictures you can see how the thinkpad evolved over three generations. Its a T61p, a W500 and a W510.

Image

As seen on the picture the screen of the W510 is way brighter

An expensive sandwich i think

A funny thing: The fan grill is way bigger on the W510, however the fan will be more loud on the same speed, sadly. Overall the system generates more heat. But i think that then fan on the W510 is a little more effiecient since it doesnt get "really" hot.

The chargers. The 135W for thw W510 is a brick...

Three very nice, very high quality machines. If i had to choose, and i didnt need to look upon the specs, i think i would choose the W500 :)

VE-RY nice pics! :thumbs-UP:

Why is the T61p screen much brighter? You know what panel do you have?

Cheers

Great pics indeed.

It's the W510 screen that's brighter. I noticed as well that the LED screens on the *10 series are way brighter than the CCFL ones on older models.

I see, it's T61p/W500/W510 right to left

Makes sense now...

Thank you for the compliments.

And yep, it is the W510 with the brighter screen. If you look close, you will notice that the "lenovo" mark is only on the W500. However it is also on my dads T520..
