X120e owners, can you see if these HD clips are playable?

#1 Post by catback » Wed Oct 31, 2012 11:24 am

Hi,

I'm considering getting a used ThinkPad X120e to take with me on family trips primarily to download and view video taken on my camcorder. The camcorder I have records in full 1080p HD AVCHD format with a maximum bitrate of 24 Mbps. Below are Dropbox download links to three sample clips recorded from my camcorder. Can anyone with a ThinkPad X120e please let me know if the clips are playable in full screen or if they're too choppy? Please list your CPU and GPU model if known.

Thanks for the help.

I tried all three clips on my X120e and they ran silky-smooth full screen with Windows Media Player.

My X120e has the E350 APU, 8GB RAM, and Windows 7 Professional. It's a great little computer. I wish Lenovo would update the line--the X130 isn't a true update, in my opinion, since it's a lot bulkier. The X120e looks and acts just like a mini version of the standard Thinkpad line of laptops.

jdk, highvista:

Thanks for the feedback.

Is there any difference performance wise between the X120e and the Lenovo IdeaPad S205? They both seem to have the same APU so I wasn't sure what the advantage of one is over the other.

I wish I could tell you WRT the Ideapad. So long as the APU are the same, I think it will be fine.
