X41 Tablet Running Android
X41 Tablet Running Android
Capacity of SD Card Slot. Anyone know how high of card can be used on X41 Tablet running Android? I have a 2GB microSD with adapter in it and its working fine, but is there a limit?

Yes. Being the X41t has the option to boot from USB, I plugged 2 usb drives in and did an install. It is SOOOO sweet!
So any idea on the capacity of the SD card slot? Believe me. Ive spent my (hours) of time messing with this android thing.

Re: X41 Tablet Running Android
There is a nice thread on this very same forum about a special Android build for the X41T
I tried it as well and it worked quite good, it was not a WOW effect for me but it was nice playing around. Check the details here

Re: X41 Tablet Running Android
Having a Thinkpad fetish for some years now. I was looking on ebay at some and ran across some X41's (not too familiar w/ the tablet line) at a really good price. It led me to google around a bit and saw that people were putting Android on them. Eventually called a friend of mine asking him something about something and the comversation led to me getting a tablet. He asked what kind, I told him a Thinkpad X41. He immediately asked if I could get one for him. He gave me the cash and I got 2. He is the one who walked me through on some things about installing android on it. He later sold it back to me for half cause he needed the cash. Now I have 2 X41's. Nice!!
Googling around I found this website that had a guy who made an android rom specificly for the X41 tablet.
One is you need to download 'unetbootin' and download the rom. Have 2 usb drives. Install the x41 rom onto one usb drive using the unetbootin program (very easy), boot the x41 and install the os from one usb to another.
The beauty of it all is the usb drive is the hard drive. I bought a 4GB nano one from newegg that doesnt stick out.
Kudo's to this guy Stefan!! http://stefanseidel.info/component/cont ... tpage.html
Tried both the 'universal' build and the 'X41t' build. They both work great on my X41.
Im sooo in love with it all. Only gripe is that none of my android emulators want to work. And that was kinda the whole reason for getting the X41 in the first place. Its still pretty awesome and my aftermarket battery for 16 bucks from ebay lasts over 4 hours!

Re: X41 Tablet Running Android
Confirmed for anyone who needs to know. My X41 Digitizer (pen) works on my X61t and my X200. The X200 digitizer also works on the other 2 machines. I do not own an X60t but would assume it would be the same. So if your tight on cash and dont care whether the pen fits into the slot correctly, from my experience, X41t, X61t, and X200t pens are all compatable, backwards compatable, or whatever you want to call it. I was trying to find an answer to this some time ago before buying my X61t and got nowhere. So maybe someone will appreciate it.
