Mini-Displayport not working

#1 Post by TonyCoates » Thu Mar 14, 2013 1:49 pm

Just switched from an X200 where I used Displayport on an ultrabase through a DP-HDMI adapter and into a display (alongside a second VGA-connected display).

I'm after the same setup with my new X230 (no docking station yet) so I got a new mini-DisplayPort to HDMI cable.
The x230 recognises the VGA screen fine but it won't recognise the digital screen on mini-DP.
The screen is fine on the old unit so it can only be the X230 or a faulty cable right?

The Mini-DP to HMDI cable says it's compatable with apple products - but Mini-DP is the same on Apple as Windows machines, isn't it?

Is there any way I can test the Mini-DP port on the X200?

I bought a generic adapter on eBay for my x230 and it just worked. Maybe your cable or adapter are broken?

I am using Debian 7.
