BLUETOOTH GPS RECEIVER $16.00 NEW

#1 Post by RRHODY » Sat May 11, 2013 3:02 pm

Found this seller on eBay slkwirelessessentials, bought a GlobalSat GPS bluetooth receiver to use with WIN7 64 bit and MS Streets & Trips. It worked so well [better than my old GPSlim236] that I've ordered another. His eBay listing says more than ten available and the $15.99 INCLUDES the shipping. Tested it again today and it was correcting the position much faster than my previous. I have no connection to this vendor, but checking the cost of a backup battery shows the cost of the battery alone to be more than $15.00. Go figure??

Interesting... if it's that cheap then I guess that for those looking for a GPS chip, it wouldn't hurt to try and get one.

The info that comes with this receiver indicates it works with any GPS accepting device, not just laptops. I have just a basic cell phone so I can't speak about other units that would mate with this receiver.

My daughter has an iPhone 4, which has GPS as standard, without requiring any attachments...

one benefit of using this bluetooth gps receiver, it doesn't need any cellphone signal (gsm, cdma), just using the gps receiver and the map will shows many satellites near you :D

cellphone with built-in gps required cellphone signal to work, tested on other blackberry handheld, but I don't know how it works on Iphone :D
