x31 dies on resume from suspend

Hi folks

My trusty X31 is now having trouble. If placed in suspend (little moon lights) and all seems good. When Fan is pressed to resume it just goes blank.

Battery needs to be removed to get it to restart.

Any thoughts?

Seems the problem is related to the charging.

It won't resume from suspend on power without the battery but will on battery only.

I have checked the Microsoft page on the power control and ensured my settings are as prescribed.
