Nostalgic IBM: Oldies but Goldies...
For nostalgic people (way before Lenovo), some IBM history: http://www.zdnet.com/photos-from-the-fi ... 457/#photo
Re: Nostalgic IBM: Oldies but Goldies...
Well, that first photo takes me back. In my high school business class, there was one "new" typewriter, and it was an IBM Selectric (like in the picture). It was such a joy to use the IBM compared to the few other electric, and especially the classroom full of manual typewriters!

I've actually got a 43P model 150 still in service at work (plus a couple of spares in storage).
Didn't realize they actually had AIX running on PC hardware in the 80s.

Thanks for the link, RBS.
IBM Hursley is a mere sneeze away from where I live. (We always used to laugh about the boffins there having brains like planets but never wearing matching socks.
)
I must pay that museum a visit when the floods die down.

Re: Nostalgic IBM: Oldies but Goldies...
During one of my regular local Craigslist scans for "IBM/Lenovo/Thinkpad" turned up this old IBM 5150 today:

I have no idea how common / rare these are, or if anyone wants me to attempt to contact the guy for them, but I saw it and immediately thought of this thread. lol
