Leaked information has been circulating for a while, but Lenovo finally confirmed it today.

News articles:

http://liliputing.com/2014/05/lenovo-th ... -14th.html

Highlights:

  • 10.1 inch, 1920 x 1200 pixel display with 170 degree viewing angles
  • Intel Atom Z3795 quad-core CPU
  • Support for Windows 8.1 64-bit
  • 2GB to 4GB of RAM

Interesting, what's the weight? Atom only and fixed screen angle in "laptop mode" though.

How about a removable battery (circa Venue 11 Pro), Lenovo?

Cheers.

Hideous. File under "not a Thinkpad".

The Ultrabook 10 keyboard appears to be lacking a trackpoint, and the click-pad buttons are merely red stripes.

I say appears, because none of the reviews bother to offer up any real photographs.

I am quite interested in buying this. But I am hesitating between this and the ThinkPad Yoga.

@loyukfai: You can also grab the ThinkPad Keyboard (Bluetooth) with the ThinkPad 10. Maybe not a perfect solution. But might be a good combination with the quickshot cover or the tablet dock.

Bad idea or not?

**Expletives removed by Saucey** that is a nice case!!!

Next PC I build will either use an ThinkStation case or a Sun Microsystems Ultra 20.

I guess a sticker is enough to make something a Thinkpad these days.

The ThinkPad 10 is a Miix 2 with a black paint. The tablet itself actually has a better build quality than ThinkPad Tablet 1 and 2.

I am still waiting for a pocketable 8-inch Windows 8 tablet that has both micro-HDMI and regular USB. If it's impossible to squeeze in a regular USB port, I would settle for a microSD slot. Toshiba and Acer have 8-inch Win 8 tablets with both micro-HDMI and micro USB, but they are too bulky.

@pianowizard,
ThinkPad 8 has mircoUSB, microHDMI and microSD, and it is slimmer than the Toshiba or the Acer - however, the battery runtime may be a bit shorter, it lacks a stylus (as the Toshiba and the Acer) and it also is much more expensive...

Thanks for the info. I did look up the Thinkpad 8's specs not long ago and noticed that it's slightly smaller than Toshiba's or Acer's counterparts, but somehow I missed the micro-HDMI. I don't think I would need a stylus, but the price is indeed prohibitive. Thus, the wait continues.

Lenovo have promised it for Tablet 8 as well but there is no such option yet. It has been five months since that.

EDIT: latest PSREF Version 453, May 7, 2014 have some ThinkPad 8 configurations with Sierra Wireless EM7345 option.

It would be nice if they offered something other than the Atom.

Glossy screens are annoying only if you consciously look for reflections. I bought my first glossy-screen device, a Dell Inspiron 700m, about 10 years ago and got used to it almost right away. And sometimes I do use these glossy screens as mirrors, when I don't have a real mirror around!
