W540 will not load from SSD, need help

I just bought a W540 (windows and an extra SSD, Crucial MX100 512G, to replace the original HD in W540.
I have created a recovery image in windows 8 to my 16G USB flash drive.
I have set:
IEFI/Legacy Boot to UEFI only.
secure Boot On
Intel Rapid Start Technology Disabled

I put the new 512G Crucial MX100 SSD into the machine, and use USB flash drive to reset the laptop.
After the reset process was finished, I took out the USB flash drive, but the laptop would not load windows from my SSD, and the laptop did detect my SSD.
I am wondering if I did something wrong? I took out the SSD and put it in to my desktop, and I did see files were written into the SSD, but W540 will not load it.

How exactly did you use the USB flash drive to reset the laptop?
