Does anyone know if 4290FP2 has IPS LCD?

There is an x220 here locally that I am considering. It has most options like the camera and 8 gig ram. The owner never heard of the IPS screen. I am reading a lot here about that option. The specs on Lenovo state that the screen is LED backlit. Is that any better than the older x61 LCD?

I have not had the chance to compare the differences. We do like to watch movies occassionally, and I would be willing to pay more for that. Just trying to save both me and the seller some time.

You'd need to run a program like Moninfo on that laptop to find out what screen it has NOW.

If you know S/N you can get exact parts list here http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/ibasepartslookup Note that Machine Type is also required otherwise it returns an empty list (at least for my X220).
