DIY Thinkpad lid?

Hello!

What material is the rubbery stuff used on the Thinkpad lids? Would it be possible to buy the stuff on its own in for example a spray can, and simply spray it on things that I would like that nice touch to it?

In the German ThinkPad-Forum, a user created a guide to renew the rubbery lid of old ThinkPads (available only in German here: http://thinkwiki.de/Gummierung_erneuern) - they used a spray that is not the exact same material, but very similar. I don´t know however if this spray is available in Denmark as well.
