Loose fit to battery

Im using my first thinkpad, it seems to me the battery 6 cell (which works fine) fits a bit loose. Both latches are in the locked position yet the battery can noticably move a bit. Is this normal?

Unfortunately, this is normal. I had to tape a thin strip of foam on top of my battery to keep it from rattling.

Did Sanyo make your battery? Everyone I've encountered with rattling batteries has a Sanyo model. The Sony ones seem to fit better.
