SSDs and BIOS HDD (ATA) password pros and cons

#1 Post by Puppy » Mon May 09, 2016 2:39 am

I found interesting article about pros and cons of using the HDD BIOS (ATA) password with SSDs on ThinkPads
https://jbeekman.nl/blog/2015/03/lenovo ... -password/

I contains a tool that enables access to your password protected SSD in different machine in case you original machine no longer works. This is not possible by default even if you know your disk password. Note: the article isn't about hacking passwords.
