T43 blue screen trying to install ac97 and drivers

Hello All,
I'm the new kid on the block. I have a t43 2668 44u that after re-installed windows xp sp2
I can not get the sound card to work. I have tried drivers from Lenovo and IBM and Realtec with no luck. When I try to load the card it blue screens. Updated BIOS,checked bios start up and cannot find anything wrong. Can anyone help me?

Are you getting any audio from the machine at all?

Hello George,
Yes the machine "beeps" from time to time but that is all, as soon as I try to install the Realtec audio the system blue screens. As I stated before I have downloaded drivers from IBM and Realtec to try to correct the issue to no avail, always the same outcome.

I doubt you are using the wrong driver though. T43s do not use realtek sound cards drivers, they use SoundMax. Try the drivers provided directly from this forum. T4x and T6x use different sound card drivers
and I use a exactly same 2668-44u T43 and the sound card driver is SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio. It worked for me in 2k, XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 (Windows 10 included the driver by default)
