Welcome to the forum!

You're looking at either a defective battery or a motherboard problem.

Can you borrow another battery and try to boot with it?

Well, that means that the charging circuit on the motherboard has been damaged. If you have skills to troubleshoot it, start looking at the fuses and testing them.

If not, you can either use the machine without the battery or replace the motherboard.

Good luck.
