T400 indicator lights NOT obliging ..

My T400 work otherwise nicely. Only the indicator status lights at screen bottom never appear.
Any solution/suggestions...
I donot want to open the screws as tend to forget where they go back.
The harware guy who serviced the fan and fixeda broken hinged laughed and stated that I should be happy that the rest is working...
T400 p8400 8 GB,250GB SSD,W10, 1400X900 tubelight LCD..
I m wanting to soup it up with a p9700 from ebay
