Yeah, I took inspiration from el-sahef over on the German forum
here they used an R60 chassis for the R500 board instead and did a whole lot of moving components and re-soldering. I didn't know how to do that so I used a file and pliers to cut away at the roll cage making things fit.

I call mine a jankypad because I had to weaken the left side of the rollcage where the hinge is, I used some black cloth tape so the hinge doesn't break out of the plastic when opening the lid.

I also managed to short something and the LED indicators no longer work.
So far every 14.1" SXGA panel I've come across hasn't been too bad apart from that one time I tried disassembling a T61 display housing by using a pen-knife and accidentally cracked the screen while prying away the plastic bezel.
