I am in the market for a relatively light laptop that I can travel with but still get work done. I will be buying a dedicated desktop for most of in-office use.
My workflow requires a lot of RAM (64 GB or higher) and a bit of CPU power and benefits a little bit from decent graphics, but I don't need 3D or play games.
As an example, yoga pro 9i with 175h processor and 32GB ram felt sluggish at times due to RAM.
Which will be better -- P14s AMD or intel? (Assuming I can configure everything to the maxes)
AMD pros/cons
Significantly lighter
Possibly runs cooler and possibly longer battery life
Possibly a little slower processor
I can go to 96 GB RAM with AMD but not with Intel for some reason on Lenovo website
Intel pros/cons
Faster processor
Dedicated graphics card (but ada 500 which according to reviewers doesn't add much)
Larger battery size
Heavier
Cannot configure with 96 GB RAM

Perhaps you cannot configure it as such, but the Intel version of the P14s with accept 96GB of memory according to the specs. Perhaps one scores slightly better or worse in one area or another, but I don't see a huge difference in practical terms. Pick the one you like and make the best of it.

Which one you got? I have the same questions and scenario as you. I do need lots of ram, not so much CPU or GPU. I've read that Intel comes with aluminum body and AMD with plastic. AMD lighter but Intel stronger. Also CPU compares shows almost equal performance. I'm not really sure which one to choose, since I'm selling my old P14s Gen 2 and my only need is a good OLED display, good RAM. Everything else can be adjusted.
