Thinkpad 600E screen extend

#1 Post by hcooll3 » Tue Sep 17, 2024 12:42 pm

I have a Thinkpad 600E and windows xp professional. I am trying to extend my screen and the second screen does not show up in display settings. It does duplicate though. Does anyone know what I can do to extend my screen?

600e doesn't support dual screen.
The highest screen resolution on the buildin lcd is 1024x768.
On external monitor you can get resolution 1280x1024 in 8 bit color.
600e has 2.5 MB VGA memory.

In theory, it may be possible to have a more modern VGA card in a docking station,
but I doubt that you will find a card the will both fit the bus system in the dock and
support dual screen.

High color 16 bit,Thinkpad display is at 1024x768 and second display is at 640 x480 75Hz. In windows 98 right click on display and choose settings. Choose advanced and then choose NEOMagic. Then check the box set dual display. When you restart the computer open display settings again by right clicking on the screen and you should see
the second screen in settings . Click on the second screen and you should see a message asking if you want to enable the display. choose yes and then the screen will extend.
