disconnecting the LCD cable from MB on X201s

#1 Post by ann269_21 » Fri Oct 04, 2024 12:26 pm

Dear All,

maybe is a silly question but still I can't figure it out from the manual or searching:

should an X201s (or any Thinkpad) boot with the LCD connector disconnected from the motherboard?

I can't have any sign of power in my case, is this a normal behaviour?

thanks a lot in advance,
A.

If everything else works, it should.
Make sure an external monitor is hooked up, to see that it works!

But I actually prefer Murphy's from Cork!

Thanks, I did try.
Now I can exclude is the LCD cable to disturb the MB.

A more general question:
which kind of MB problem comes to your mind if a laptop power on (fan spinning, HD spinning, lights blinking.. )
just by plugging in the AC connection with no need to use the power-on button?

(Already tried two different power cords)
