Where to buy T43

#1 Post by tseries » Fri Aug 05, 2005 1:13 am

IBM tells me there is a 3-5 week wait for all T-series models with the new chipsets (i.e. > 1.86GHz, PCI-Express).

What other options do I have for purchasing a high-end T-series thinkpad? I want to receive it within no more than a week. Is pcmall a good place for this? Any others?

Thank you.

Ideally: T43, 2.13GHz, Bluetooth, FPR, 14.1" SXGA+, DVD-burner

Why don't you check out the site of the guy who owns this place, Bill Morrow. He has many Thinkpads in stock and you "could" have yours as soon as tomm.!

I ordered my Thinkpad from IBM.com on Sunday night, it was at my house yesterday, and that was with free shipping. It must have shipped so quickly since it was only 1.86Ghz.

I got mine from PC Connection, refurbed. Works fine despite what some people would have you believe about a refurbed unit (just like new, with a shorter warranty that I don't want to pay for anyway). The price was about the same as the EPP configuration minus taxes. And it arrived in 3 days with free ground shipping and no tax to CA.

eBay is fine if you find a reputable seller, and dare I say the machines would probably be much, much, much more affordable than the top-of-the-line stuff Bill seems to stock (although if you want a p, this seems to be the place where you should get it).
