Transcend TS128MSQ64V5J 1GB RAM Module

#1 Post by billyb » Tue Sep 13, 2005 7:10 am

Is there anyone here successfully using the above-mentioned RAM module in their X41 or X41T?

The Transcend dealer in my part of the world does not carry Transcend part number TS1GIB3844 which the Transcend USA website lists as the part required for the IBM X41, but the dealer swears the parts are identical.

Since the prices and specs are identical on the Transcend USA website, I suspect that may be true but would like confirmation from anyone here who may be using the Transcend TS128MSQ64V5J 1GB RAM Module in their X41.

Can't you ask him to test it, and if it doesn't work - to return?
Does the law in your country allow you to return products after buying?

Anyway, the memory should have the following specs:
SoDIMM 200pin
DDR2 PC4200
533MHz
X41 Tablet 18666TU 1.5GHz CPU, 60GB HDD, 1.5GB RAM, DVD-CDRW

He is willing to let my try it before I buy, but it is a 280 km drive there and 280 km back, so if at all someone here has tried this mem it makes it much easier for me. If he ships it to me he will not take it back.

The specs are identical, 200 pin DDR2 SO-DIMM, PC-4200, 533 MHz, CAS 4

I don't think there is any problem.
I'm gonna buy 1GB Kingston memory for my X41T, here, from an online reseller I don't even know. The law here doesn't allow me to return it after buying it, unless I pay them % of the money or the product is broken. I checked the specs and they are the same - so I have nothing to worry about, even though the part number is different then in USA.

Well I did the drive earlier today, and for all those who are curious the RAM worked perfectly. I sat there for an hour with Prime95 running in torture test mode without a hitch.
