Performance increase on new Pentium M

#1 Post by AtmosMan » Wed Jul 07, 2004 11:47 pm

I've been reading around a bit, and in reviews of the recently released Dothan processor, they say that the performance increase over Banias is proportional to the doubled L2 cache size. The next Pentium M chip due out later this year has the same features of Dothan, but has a 533MHz FSB (instead of a 400Mhz FSB.) What would the general performance increase be if the FSB speed was increased by 133MHz (While everything else remains constant?)

It's hard to say for sure, but I would guess 4-5%
