Hi
I've recently bought T42 (2379 DXU) with windows XP. However, I have the following problem when capturing my video from Sony DCR-TRV38 Handycam. I've been successfully using SIIG FireWire CardBus card under Win2k on my older IBM ThinkPad laptop A20p. However, when I plug-in this card into T42 in contrast to A20p (Win2k) it pop-ups at two places in Device Manager:
1) "IEEE 1394 Bus host controllers" as "VIA OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller"
2) "Network adapters" as "1394 Net Adapter". This has Device status: "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"
When I plug-in my handycam the "Imaging device" do not pop-up in Device Manager. I guess Microsoft DV driver is installed (at least I can find msdv.sys file at several places) and there is also DirectX9 installed on the system.I have installed Win Movie Maker (comes with XP) and also Pinnacle studio 8.4 to handle my video.
Any clue how can I fix or what makes the problem?
Thanks
Roman

windows dv problem - win xp
I resolved the problem (with the help of siig guys) and I post the solution just in case
somebody gets into the same trouble ....
1. Boot the machine
2. Press F1 at the IBM logo screen to enter the BIOS setup
3. Select Config -> Power -> PCI Bus Power Management (scroll to the bottom of the page)
4. Change from Automatic to Disable
5. Press F10 to save the change and exit the BIOS setup
Cheers
