What to do with my T23 and T22 and T20

#1 Post by t20user » Fri Jan 13, 2006 8:57 am

I have a slight dilema. I have owned a T20 for a couple years, and just recently decided to upgrade to a T23. I got one on ebay and it turned out to be a T22 with an ailing hard drive (hibernate and suspend issues). When I complained to the seller he shipped me a T23 and let me keep the T22. The T23 it turns out has the gray bar on the top of the screen issue and does not boot up always. Meanwhile my T20 still works fine. I have been using the T22 for the last 3 months but I would much rather have the T23 operational. I also want to settle on one laptop so I can sell the others. I thought about selling all of them and getting an IBM recertified T23, any recommendations on what to do?

well you can get a motherboard for the t23 for 100.00, so you might want to consider putting a new board in the t23 and going that route. Also just an fyi you could sell all 3 and afford to get a T40/T41, so you might want to consider that as an alternative.

Ya, the T40 option crossed my mind. But I do not like that series as much as the T20 series. I am sure some day I will be forced to go that route, just dont want to do it today.

The T4x series is much better than the T2x series. I have a T22 and a T23 as well as a T41. The battery life alone would justify the investement.. 4 hours on a T41 and the best that I have ever got for the T23 was 2 hours. The only thing missing from the T41 is a serial port.
