Diskeeper 9.0 Lite

#1 Post by DIGITALgimpus » Fri Jan 20, 2006 3:19 pm

Want better defrag than Windows has by default? Don't feel like shelling out cash?

http://www.intel.com/design/motherbd/software/idu/

Extract the full archive to to a temporary folder. Within you'll find a directory called "3rdparty", and in there "Diskeeper" (not the 64 one).

Run that setup program.

9.0 lite contains some (but not all) full version features. Better than built in verison, but not as good as a commercial version.

Still, not bad for free right?

It does bug on occasion when running (like when you analyze) that upgrading is a good thing to do.

Hope someone could use that tip.

Download Contig from Sysinternals

http://www.sysinternals.com/FileAndDiskUtilities.html

Then download Power Defragmenter GUI from:

http://freeweb.siol.net/razor256/xss/

Place the Power Defragmenter in the same folder as Contig and run the program. Both are free.

Thanks for sharing - much appreciate it.
The Diskeeper Lite that came with my T60p decided to stop working for some reason...
