Questions about the Tabook

#1 Post by notebooknewbie » Sun Feb 05, 2006 6:53 pm

Just a few quick questions I was hoping somone could answer

1) Are ALL of the models listed in the Tabook available to customers (such as ourselves), or are some of them directed towards other segments of their customer base (i.e large businesses etc.)

2) Are most (if not all) of the models listed in the Tabook available in Canada as well, or not?

Thanks so much!
A notebook newb!

while some are "directed" at special large enterprises or other groups single versions can and DO leak out into the general population..

some will not be available for sale IN canada but as we all know the border is porus and notebooks go all over all the time..

s while a particular model might not be sold in canada its not unusual for some to wind up there..

In Denmark IBM claims that the guarantee does not cover IBM notebooks purchased from outside Denmark.

I can imagine a Thinkpad, covering it's IBM logo and chromed ports with black tape, slinking along between pools of deep shadow, darting out to attach itself to the underframe of a car stopped in the line at the boarder check point, then clinging on for dear life until its over the border into FREE CANADA!

Someone should alert Homeland Security and the C&BP!

Cheers,

Bill

Nooooo......
not THAT border, the OTHER border..
they DO cover the logo with black tape but they don't travel in the suspension parts of BMW's..
OR, for that matter, Hundai's..
they travel in large groups disguised as raw rubber destined for the michelin tire factory SOUTH of the border and near the old IBM manufacturing plant, where bootleg repairs are done by former IBM workers.. :)

   I think I am beginning to see a movie plot here ;) :)

Seriously, though...The models should be available to ship to places such as Canada as long as all the regulations for things like power and wirless are met right? Then it is only a matter of the warranty.

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.
