My brother-in-law has limited PC skills, but has decided he wants/needs a Notebook.
Having seen my Thinkpad he now wants one, and after browsing decided he likes the size of the X60/40s.
Money is no object but I wonder, in terms of ease of use etc., should I push him toward a T Series?
The portability of the Xs would be ideal for him.
Opinions?
Is an X series Thinkpad a good idea 4 a PC novice?

Well, no, not if he wants/needs the portability of the X series.Yahdie wrote:but I wonder, in terms of ease of use etc., should I push him toward a T Series?

The biggest difference between the T and the X series is the former has an internal optical drive. If that's a requirement, then he should go for the T series. But if he also requires something very light, then I recommend the amazing Panasonic W2 notebook which is about 2.9 lbs but has an internal combo drive and a 12.1-inch display:
