Strange IBM order statuses

Ordered a Z60m early Dec, was originally to be shipped sometime in Jan, then changed to be shipped Feb 9th, and now it says to be shipped Jan 21st, which is way in the past. Why gives of the IBM statuses?

Will I ever get to see my order or should I just cancel and buy a HP? I wanted IBM primarily because I've used it at work for many years, and unlike most, I actually prefer the pointing stick. Now I see HP's nc8230 also has a pointing stick and I'm temped to go for that.

Any opinions out there?

Is there a tracking number with it?

I was looking at the 8230 as a viable replacement, but the screens have been VERY lackluster, driving me away from them. The extended battery is also somewhat odd on those series as it clips onto the bottom.

No tracking # as the [censored] thing has not even been shipped!?

Where can I see the nc8230? since it's a business laptop rather than consumer, I don't know where to check the screen out. The additional battery wouldn't bother me much as I intend to use it as a desktop replacement.
