How do I check/configure soundcard (Full Duplex)

#1 Post by chermesh » Sat Jul 29, 2006 5:25 am

Hi,
Whenever I use a voip service, I can hear the other side, but cn't be heard.
Can it be caused by my dulex state, half instead of fill?
If so, how can I check my state and how can I configure it?
I'm using a T42 with a winxp pro (sp2) system, connected to the net via adsl.

There are half duplex, full duplex sound card (netcard~) .

If the sound card can send(sound)and receive(record sound) at the same time,we call it full duplex card.

So the half duplex card has only one action ,send or receive.
it does not happen at the same time .

Regards

How do I identify which card?

#4 Post by chermesh » Sun Jul 30, 2006 12:49 am

rainab68,
Thanks.
How do I identify the soundcard and how do I configure it?
My first guess included two device manager items, "System" and "Sound, Video and Game Controllers". In none did I identify the soundcard. Did I oversee the obvious?

It seems as likely there could be a firewall or intrusion detection system issue. Half Duplex (in my experience) slows down traffic, not eliminate it. ... JD Hurst

I am late,sorry

Something about identify the soundcard.
If you can record your sound with "windows Sound Recorder" (start-accessories-entertainment-Sound Recorder),while you play music(by your notebook :D ), the sound card is full duplex.

hah good luck~~
