Cleaning my screen.. windex?

#1 Post by gongo » Mon Jul 23, 2007 10:00 am

what products do you use to clean your screen? I have a x61T so I can see my grubby palm prints on the edges and was wondering if something like windex will be too strong.

I have some cleaning solution for glasses as well. What do you guys use? And dont tell me your shirt.. i tried that and all it does is smear my prints.

Never use anything with ammonia in it.
Rubbing alcohol and water seem to work the best. Be sure to read the thread in the link nonny provided.

One of the things I use is from Office Depot called Screen Cleaner. It says on the label-'The correct way to clean notebook, anti-glare and polarized computer screens'. It works pretty well, but my personal favorite cleaner is Stoner Invisible Glass-I actually use it to clean the screen and the case on my Thinkpads and it does a wonderful job. I use a microfiber detailing cloth to wipe it down and it does wonders removing years of dirt and grime-as well as small scratches and scuffs that appear on the rubberized covering.
I lost count...

Monster Screen Clean. I use it on all my LCD monitors and TVs. It leaves no residue, doesn't drip when applying it and will not harm the coating on the panel. Comes with a microfiber cloth. It's a great product.
