I'm just migrating to a T41 from a T30 and don't find the built-in wireless adapter all that robust.
My T30 (with the cisco built-in adapter) worked out of the box and is able to establish and maintain a connection much better to my Linksys 802.11b
wireless access point router (BEFW11S4 V2.1 with firmware 1.45z) than the T41 with its integrated 11a/b/g adapter.
Nothing in my wireless environment has changed, and in fact I can have both machines sitting side by side, within inches of the wireless router - the T30 will maintain 100% signal, the T41 will fluctuate from 71-95% signal. At 30 feet away, through 2-3 walls, the T30 will maintain 30-40% signal; I'll be lucky with the T41 if I get 20-25% signal, if any at all.
I've updated the driver on the T41 to 3.1.1.52 (latest) and the Access Connections to 3.2 with the hopes that it would get better, and it hasn't.
My wireless environment (within 3ft of the thinkpads and the router) includes a Logitech wireless mouse, a cordless phone (900Mhz), and sometimes a cell phone.
Anyone have any clues how I can get back to the wireless performance of my T30 with this new T41?
