T40p openGL unavailable
T40p openGL unavailable
I have a problem with openGL in my T40p running in Win XP Pro. Everytime when a program requires openGL the program hangs. It seems that the new video driver version 6.14.10.6422 does not support openGL since I didn't have the problem with the old driver. Does anyone have similar problems or know a solution? Thanks, Lanbaba
Re: T40p openGL unavailable
Hello Lanbaba,
Where do you get that driver version from? The current driver on the IBM site is 7.983-040210m-013821C-IBM.
Check out http://www-306.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-41918
I have never had problems with OpenGL.
Best regards,
Jens

Hi Jens,
Yes, your are right. That's the driver I installed, but when you check "My Computer -> Properties -> Hardware -> Device Manager -> Display adapters -> ATI MOBILITY FIRE GL 9000 -> Properties -> Driver" you'll see the driver version 6.14.10.6422 and date 2/10/2004. When I run the benchmark test "bench" in matlab-6.5-R13 Matlab just hangs at the 3D-test if I didn't switch off openGL
Similar problems happen in other programs too
Cheers, LANBABA

Just to clear up some confusion...
IIRC, there are two number associated with an ATI driver set (and that carries over to IBM's version of that set.) There's the driver packaging version for the Catalyst set (that's the 7.xx number here) and a version number for the driver itself (the 6.xxx number here) Once you go into the download page from IBM, it kind of explains itself and it's perfectly acceptable to reference both numbers.
