Only For U.S?

#1 Post by Chobits » Sat May 29, 2004 9:57 pm

Hi i was reading this entire forum and was wondering if Bill does ship orders outside the U.S. For an example Asia or anywhere else? I recently bought a T41p from campus and i was offered SGD$3599. ( that goes with all the basic spec you see off the website ). So if i'm not mistaken, does all these pricing means that its in USD?

Chobits

Bill ships outside of the US. You just need to contact him (Bill@thinkpads.com).

yes, i ship worldwide..
but unless i know you i won't take your credit card..
bank wire or USD check only..
reason is there is too much fraud, not to mention the CC fee is 5+%..

right now i am having a sale on the T41p 2373GEU model at $2600USD cash + shipping..

and if you are in singapore, i have a very long standing customer who lives there..
if you need a local reference that is.. :)

Bill, have you ever shipped to Canada? I have ordered crucial RAM and I have to pay the sales taxes of the US price. In Canada (Some provinces) it's up to 15%.

That's normal and unless the US vendor has some special arrangement with Canada Customs to prepay/preclear (e.g. TigerDirect) it's usually charged at the border when the package enters Canada. There's generally no duty on computers and related parts that enter Canada from the US.

i usually mail memory..
either global priority, domestic priority or first class..
just press the memory between two pieces of cardboard and slap a stamp on the mailing..
works every time..

except italy.. they don't do US global priority mail..

I ordered a 2373GEU from Bill, and it arrived in Japan in 2 days. Tax owed on arrival was 14,500 yen - about $130. So overall, buying from Bill was about 50% cheaper than purchasing in Japan, and just about as fast.

Hi Bill,

I live in Germany, and intersted in getting T41p with US keyboard. I want to know the following things.

* How does it work with warranty? Can I order some kind of courier collect service in Germany to mail my thinkpad to a Germany based service center (or IBM germany) for warranty?

* You said that it is around $2600+shipping for T41p. Does it include US taxes? What'll be the German taxes when the order enters Germany? I need a rough overall estimate of the total price(price for T41p+additional taxes in Germany+shipping+transfer of money from here.). It would be nice to have it in Euros, but not mandatory.

Thank you very much.

regards,
Parthiban.

I am not Bil...

1. IBM warranty is world wide, i.e. of course you could send your defective Notebook to IBM Germany.

2. Do you expect that Bill knows german custom regulations? Check

thanks for linking to german customs..

there are no taxes on this end, at all..
and i can use the customers credit card for the shipping charges..

thus no handling charges or the like, just an additional $10 for receiving a bank wire..

Hello Bill,

Understand that you shipped to singapore before, would you have any information on the freight cost to singapore and how long the delivery took?

Read from the above link that it arrived in japan in 2 days, for singapore tax, i know they charge a flat 5% tax.

Also would you have a link that i can see to know what is it that you have on offer at the moment

Please kindly advise:
1. What is the courier/frieght charge for shipping a 15" T42 to Hong Kong?

2. [Edit: deleted the part about paying by Credit Card--noted you don't accept.]

to HK it is ABOUT $150, give or take $25..
can't get an exact price without a shipping address..
but if you have a fedex account i can use that to ship..

funny though, since these all ship from kowloon to alaska to louisville to florida..
and now, maybe, back to HK..
