Thinkpad protection- "Global Model Plus" ?

#1 Post by anz2007 » Fri Dec 03, 2004 10:48 pm

I'm trying to buy a t42 from IBM through EPP. There are 2 choics for thinkpad protection- "Thinkpad Protection- 3 Years ($152.10)", and "3-yr Thinkpad Protection for Global Model Plus machines ($152.10)". What's a global model plus machine? Which option should I pick?

maybe you should have a look inot the latest news papers and read that the whole Thinkpad business is currently being sold to China.
I suggest to ask some IBM personnel what that means for warranty and future support (Call center somewhere in Shenzen, or outsourced to Bangalore ?!)

I am quite clueless right now what to do with my new purchased ThinkPads...
only hoping that they will never break down.

Yeah, I feel the same way. I have 3 year accidental damage, that ends in '07, and I was a little bummed to hear about IBM. Hopefully it's nothing to worry about.
