thinkpad temperatures?

#1 Post by katman » Thu Jun 03, 2004 12:24 am

is there a way to see temperatures via bios or os? i'm curious because the t42's 60gb 7200rpm hd heats up considerably. and the fan likes to be on most of the time...

hmonitor (www.hmonitor.com) can do that but you have to pay for it (if you plan to use it for more than 30 days) Here is another little program (MobileMeter) that is completely free:

do you guys wish you had gotten the 80GB 5400 rpms instead due to the 7200 rpm's heat/noise/fan-usage?

not sure. dont need the extra space, and the heat and noise isn't absurd. we'll see in a couple months.. probably ill get used to it
