Would You Buy a T400/T500 that can't record Stereo Sources?

The immediate predesesor to the upcoming T400/T500 units (the T61 .... and also the X61 units) was intentially factory crippled to prevent any audio recording from sources other than the mono-mic .... i.e. no stereo recording from your own music compositions, CDs, gaming, video recording, internet radio, etc.

IBM's older T42/T43 and Levono's T60 had no such audio recording restrictions.

If the audio recording restrictions of the T61 are carried over to the T400/T500, would you still consider purchasing such a unit?
