#1 Post by wisydude » Mon Oct 06, 2008 12:57 am

Hi,
I am about to buy an external HDD for data backup. There is lots of model on the market for reasonable price. I ask for recommendation which NOT to buy.
thanks

This doesn't pertain to 3000 models. Moving to the general conference. - Harryc

I went with a Maxtor OneTouch for the five-year warranty, but other manufacturers are coming out with similar warranty offerings. I'd look for that as the distinguishing feature. Notably, I did not see such a warranty on Western Digital drives.

Otherwise, they're all basically the same. Go with whatever's cheapest.
